Supporting schools in a changing post-18 landscape

Schools have long provided outstanding preparation for university admissions. Increasingly, however, families are asking a different question alongside the traditional one:  “Should my child also consider a degree apprenticeship?”

For many schools this pathway sits slightly outside established guidance structures, not because it is less valuable, but because it operates differently. Selection processes resemble graduate recruitment more than UCAS, and timelines are often different.   And importantly, every individual student pathway is different, making it difficult for schools to provide tailored support to every student.

The Apprenticeship Studio works with schools to provide clarity without disrupting existing university application support.   We offer a complimentary 45 minute parent & student briefing, online or in person.  This explains:

  • how degree apprenticeships work in practice

  • how competitive they have become

  • who they suit — and who they may not suit

  • how applications run alongside UCAS

  • realistic preparation timelines

  • common misconceptions and risks

We aim to offer students and their families some clarity and a balanced understanding of the various pathways available.  We aim to support careers teams - and give an introduction to approaching applications thoughtfully - maintain university options and reducing the guesswork
