Our Approach

We offer tailored support because every journey is different. Packages start at £350 for two sessions to help structure your application plan.  If you would like more personal support throughout the process , we have different options, up to year-round, on-call support at short notice (critical when assessments arrive with only a few days’ warning), guiding you through every stage from discovery and profile building to interviews and final assessments.

Introductory call:   Exploring your options

We start with a free, no-obligation 30-minute call, usually with the student and a parent or guardian.  In this first call, we talk through the pros and cons of degree apprenticeships, and if it would be a good fit for you.

We also discuss which industry would be best for you – there is a huge amount of choice, from finance, consulting and law, to FMCG, science, pharmaceuticals and engineering.  And then, I’ll take you through the preparation and application process so that you can decide if you would like me to support you on your journey.

When to start:  Build your experience and profile

Ideally, I like to start working with young people towards the end of Year 11 or early in Year 12, when we can start to look at ways to make you stand out – from work experience, to volunteering, sport or other extra-curricular activities, and start to build you a strong CV and LinkedIn profile.

The summer after GCSEs is a great time to start building your experience and your profile, so it’s good to have a clear view of your apprenticeship options to at that point, to start tailoring your experience.

Through Year 12, we build on that experience, and start to explore the apprenticeships that interest you.  This is also a good time to start practising assessments – before the pressure of final year exams in Year 13.

The application process

Then, early in Year 13, the work really starts!  I can help you work through all the apprenticeships as they open for applications, and help you to tailor your CV and cover letters to submit the strongest possible application.

I can then support you as you move on to the first stage assessments, helping you build your verbal, logical and numerical reasoning skills for online tests – and importantly, support you with interview coaching – as many of the application processes ask you to complete video interviews at this stage.

Then, if you are invited to final stage assessment, I can be with you all the way - until you walk through the door.   Confidence at this stage is vital, so I offer more formal interview coaching, and practice assessments, and I can support your research into the company you are applying to - to give you the best possible chance of success.
